A world-class medical school is necessary to fulfill Hawaii's
vision to become the healthcare and wellness center of the
Pacific.  The John A. Burns School of Medicine is an excellent
medical school.  To become world-class and to enhance its value
and contribution to the health and well being of our state and
region, the school requires additional resources and support to
enhance its education and research programs.  A strong research
program will contribute substantially to the economic recovery of
our state.  The panel will discuss the vision, programs and plans
for the School.  

The panelists are:

and Executive Vice Chancellor, University of Hawaii at Manoa;
Edwin C. Cadman, M.D., Dean, John A. Burns School of Medicine;
The Honorable James Burns, Judge, Intermediate Court of Appeals;
Mr. Richard Dahl, President and COO, Pacific Century Financial
Corporation;
Mr. Arthur Ushijima, President, Queen's Medical Center;
Ms. Frances Hallonquist, Executive Vice President and CEO,
Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children;

 
 


 
Frederick Greenwood, Ph.D., Director and Professor, Pacific
Biomedical Research Center;
Mr. William Richardson, Esq., HMS Hawaii Management Partners;
